Learning Center

Giving our members the Knowledge to Compete

CBC Learning Center is another way CBC helps facilitate relationships between our supplier partners and a network of over 15,500 members. By distributing industry knowledge and expertise to independent retailers, we ensure their success in a competitive marketplace. The Learning Center turns the knowledge of retail operations and management practices into real world, pragmatic training programs. Our courses provide convenient and meaningful interaction between retailers and the the Learning Center training staff. The more our members can learn from these experienced retailers, the more success they’ll achieve, and the more of your products they’ll sell.

Teaching for Success

The Learning Center offers a variety of programs that help c-store owners and managers run their businesses more efficiently, which will ultimately lead to their long-term success. C-stores typically operate on small margins, and most don’t have the systems, capabilities or management experience that allows them to be as profitable as they could be. Our courses provide a better understanding of real-world issues that managers must address in order to be run a more productive store. Course topics include: Reducing Shrink, Increase In-Store Sales, Coffee Selling Tips, Reduce Customer Theft, and Increase Fuel Gallons Sold, among many others. We’ve designed the courses to provide specific, practical techniques and approaches that they can implement quickly and easily to have an immediate impact on their bottom lines.

The classes are accessible via:

  • Seminars: Classes are taught by seasoned industry professionals, averaging over 25 years of real-world experience owning or operating a c-store, car wash, bayed service or full-facility location.
  • Computer Based Training: These in-depth modules are delivered on CD/DVD to provide additional learning opportunities beyond the seminars and allow owners to bring the education to his or her staff. These sessions and additional topics are accessible via the Web.
  • On-Site Training: Covering the same topics as the seminars, this training is tailored to the specific on-site situation to translate learning into immediate action in the store.
